busy busy busy!

I have this rather bad habit of taking on not quite more than I can handle but enough to make it challenging to decide which thing to work on.  I'm really excited to be a vendor at The Brass Screw Confederacy again this year and I'm quite enjoying making some new hats for it.  But at the same time I feel like I should be doing so many other things like housework, or custom order work, or continuing research on grad schools.  And then the sun is shining and I really just want to be outside!  I guess I'll get it all sorted out eventually.

In the meantime:

Sweet 16th: Recipe book

This month I thought I'd do the 16th a little differently.  Partly because of the house already being full of sweets and partly because my time has been so over consumed by my hand-painted gear skirt, I'm giving you a compilation of recipes I've recently tried and some that are on my list.

Sugar corkscrews!

Coconut bonbons. These tasted like super decadent Mounds Bars. Yum!

Onion flowers. Gorgeous edible table art.

Citrus salad.  So beautiful and delicious for anytime of year! Would add a gorgeous color touch to a wintery day.

Anyways, that's what's on my recipe radar right now.  Send me recipes you think I'd like!  Pretty please?

Getting busy

While I should possibly be thinking about what I'm going to make next week for the Sweet 16th, I haven't been.  At all.  Possibly due to the fact that thanks to Easter (and an affinity for Ikea cookies) the house is already too full of sweets as it is.  Instead I have been collecting projects, and as usual, trying to tackle them all simultaneously.

Here's a little glimpse of what I'm working on:

Pleated underskirt

Drawing out template for lacey gears

Painting gears onto sheer black fabric

And sewing little tea cups.

What have you been up to?
